Havana Blue (2007) by Leonardo Padura.

GoodReads meta-data is 244 pages rated 3.62 by 1497 litizens.

Genre: Krimi.

Verdict: Blah, blah, blah.

All backstory and banter.  No policing.  No interrogations.  No clues.  No procedural.  No evidence. No mystery.  And that is just the beginning of the No’s.

Instead we have endless pages about memories, high school lusts, hangovers, vomit, and other high points.  Set in the 1980s there is scant mention of Comrade Numero Uno, El Jefe. There is only the most superficial reference to the Havana context.  Boring and self-indulgent are words that came to mind as I flipped the pages.

This is part of a long series.  Oh hum.

Admission, I gave up half way through.  I tried one in the series before with the same result.
